Fire Rated Breather Membrane
Wall breather membranes (also known as breathable membranes) are an integral element in a building envelope. Designed to combat damp and mould forming in a building, they are installed in external walls to prevent water ingress, but crucially their vapour-permeable quality allows moisture to escape. When constructing buildings over 11m or 18m, using a wall breather membrane with fire rated performance gives added protection against the propagation of fire.
